Santa

Before Santa
Watching Santa
With Santa

Ben loved seeing Santa or Santi (what Ben likes to call him) except when he had to sit with him. I was really hoping this year would be different, oh well!!! There's always next year!

Christmas Pageant

Ben had his Christmas Pageant yesterday. It was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. All the children were under the age of four. I was worried that Ben would run to us as soon as he saw us but he stayed put. He was beyond excited!!! I think that Ben thought all the people there were to see him. He never sang a word but smiled the whole time. After each song Ben would stand up and clap. It was a very fun day!

Christmas Meme

This came from a bloggy friend and I thought it was fun. If you want to play along leave a comment to tell me! :)

1.) Have you started your Christmas shopping? Yes, still have a way to go.....

2.) Tell me about one of your special traditions. We always make the same thing every Christmas morning, caramel rolls and egg casserole. I look forward to it all year long!

3.)
When do you put up your Tree? The day after Thanksgiving. I can't wait to get up the decorations as soon as possible. It makes me so happy.

4.)
Are you a Black Friday shopper? Nope.

5.)
Do you Travel at Christmas or Stay home? We stay home and will always stay home now that we have Ben. We always want our children to wake up at their own home on Christmas morning.

6.)
What is your funniest Christmas memory? The first Christmas that we spent with my parent when we were married was funny because my uncle kept refilling Jason's glass all evening so that by the end of the night neither one of them could stand up. It wasn't as funny at the time but I laugh so hard when I think about it now.

7.)
What is your favorite Christmas Movie of All time? I love Christmas Vacation and Love Actually.

8.)
Do you do your own Christmas Baking, what’s your favorite treat? YES, YES, YES!!!! I love the peanut butter kiss cookies and frosted sugar cookies.

9.)
Fake or Real Tree? We have a fake tree. My husband is in insurance and says that the real ones are too dangerous! He loves to tell me how a whole room can be engulfed in flames in one minute if a tree catches on fire.

10.)
What day (as a Mom) does the actual panic set in to get it all done? Usually the day after Thanksgiving.

11.)
Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve? Not usually, maybe stocking stuff.

12.)
What is your favorite family fun time at Christmas? I really like everything! It's my favorite holiday by far!

13.)
What Christmas craft do you like the best? I like making a gingerbread house if I have time.

14.)
Christmas music? Love it all! I only get to hear the songs for one month, so I use that to my advantage.

15.)
When do you plan to finish all your shopping? The week before Christmas so that I don't have to go to the mall when schools out!

3+1=4

I have some VERY exciting news...............Ben will have a baby sister come spring time!!!!!

I've been waiting to say anything since I had two miscarriages earlier in the year. Things look good so far but I'm considered very high risk because of what happened with Ben. Please keep me in your prayers if you can. Thanks!!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Counting the pumpkins

Pumpkin kisses

Ben LOVED the pony rides.

leaving the pony rides

This past weekend we went the pumpkin patch with Jason's parents. Ben had a blast since it was his first outing since being sick for two weeks. We were able to go on a hayride, ride ponies, and play in the pumpkin patch. Ben thought that it was lots of fun to nestle himself right in between the pumpkins. Very cute. Ben's favorite thing was riding the ponies. Grandma and Grandpa thought he need to ride it twice since he liked it so much. The only problem we had was saying goodbye to the ponies. As you can see, Ben took it a little hard.

First Day of Preschool

Ben had his first day of Preschool on Tuesday. It was a little tramatic for both Ben and I. He cried something fierce when I dropped him off. I could hear him crying all the way at the end of the hallway as I was leaving. My heart was breaking. No mother wants to hear their child cry and not be able to swoop in and help. I didn't get a call to come early and get him which made me feel better. When I went to pick him up he was in tears. His teacher said he cried on and off all morning but got worse as children were being picked up.

Today was our second day. He cried again at drop off but not as bad. I went early to pick him up and peeked in the window. He wasn't crying! He wasn't happy but he wasn't crying! Ben's teacher said that he did better today and loved music time but was a little impatient in between songs.

Let's hope next week is even better! :)

rough morning

I woke up this morning not remembering what the date was........I should have stopped right there and know it was going to be a rough day.

I thought it might be okay since Ben decided to sleep until 8:00. I was wrong.

Around 8:20 I checked my calendar... okay it's Monday the 24th ..... we have 9am doctor's appt!

No shower yet. We're still in our pj's.

We need to leave the house in no less than 10 minutes to make it there on time IF there's no traffic.

Thank goodness Ben's drank his milk already.

I throw clothes on myself and Ben and we are out the door.

We make it to appt. on time.

Ben is reasonably happy at this point.

We meet with the doctor for about 30 minutes and then it's time to go.

Apparently my son did not think this was a wise idea.

He had a MAJOR meltdown.

By MAJOR, I mean screaming, crying, hitting, and pulling my hair.

I'm sure all the other patients were thinking he was getting some kind of shot but no, my son does not want to leave the toy elephant in the room.

It gets so bad the doctor has to help me keep Ben from grabbing my hair.

I leave my bags and say I will be right back for them after I put him in the car.

Once I have Ben strapped in I turn around to see the doctor has followed me out with my bags.

I was so embarrassed I could have cried.

She reassures me that this happens to all parents of two years old.

This does little to make feel anything but wanting to run away as fast as I can.

Naptime could not come soon enough today. I hope he sleeps until his father gets home! (Just kidding, kind of...)

Hhh... hello

Halloween - It's one of my favorite holidays. As soon as I can I get all my decorations up. I've already bought Ben's costume for this year at a consignment sale but I'm not sure it will still fit my the end of October (he's growing so much!) Oh well....he can play dress up in it!

Hugs - Giving and getting hugs just makes me feel better. I especially like getting hugs from Ben.

Haircuts - I love getting my hair done. My favorite part is getting my hair washed. I could sit in the chair for hours if they kept rubbing my head!! Afterwards I was feel I need to go someplace special to show off my pretty shiny hair!

Hawaii - I've only been there once when I was in middle school but it was the best vacation we ever took. The weather was gorgeous and the water was crystal clear. We did lots of touristy things while we were there like see Don Ho sing, visit a pineapple farm, and watch a surfing contest on the North Shore. I can't wait to go back one day.

Grateful

Grandparents - Ben is lucky to have the best grandparents ever!! They love him to pieces and he knows he can get his way with both of them. I love them because no matter what's going on with them they are always willing to help out. I feel so spoiled that they live so close. I never want to move!

Gadgets
- Specifically, kitchen gadgets. I have every special tool know to man for the kitchen. I could sell Pampered Chef!

Gummy candies - I love anything gummy! My two favorite are sour patch kids and gummy cherries. They were a staple when I was pregnant with Ben.
